Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
It is with great joy that I welcome you to this virtual tour of our Parish of Port-de-Grave.
The theme of our last biennial Diocesan Synod was Remembering the Past,
Celebrating the Present and Embracing the Future. The Parish of Port-de-Grave
certainly has an extensive history of which to be proud. As you tour this site please
take the time to read the history of each of our three congregations- St. Luke’s, St.
Mark’s, and St. George’s.
While our mandate to communicate the Good News of God in Christ remains the same,
the means in which we communicate that message often changes. The fact that you
can view the work of our Parish through the World Wide Web is just one such change.
The Parish of Port-de-Grave is celebrating its present as we seek to find new ways of
reaching out to our communities and of making disciples in this time and place. We
offer a number of opportunities for adult and youth involvement, many of which you will
see as you read our “Upcoming Events” section. We warmly welcome all those who
would like to be part of the various ministries we offer.
As Christians we are a people of hope and resurrection. In this light, we as the Parish
of Port-de-Grave, embrace our future as we look for new and innovative ways to know
Christ and to make him known. It is only by working together that we will be able to
strengthen the Body of Christ for this mission- a mission of the past, the present and
the future.
